Sitemap is a tool that displays all links on internet sites. They are added to the management console of Google and the other search engines. Sitemap allows search engine bots to scan internet sites faster. Using sitemaps on internet sites does not affect the rankings of the sites. However, it does allow Google and the other search engines to scan the sites faster. Although it is not a ranking criterion, it is an essential factor that sites get index faster.

SSL Certificate

SSL certificate is an element that controls whether the internet sites are trustworthy and that is recommended by Google. Sites that do not use an SSL certificate encounter the word insecure on the URL bar. Although this does not affect the rankings, it harms the sites in terms of user experience. Google saying that a site is not secure directly affects the duration of the users staying on that site.

External Links

External links are those that internet sites link to another site. Links that are given outside are usually perceived as backlinks, so they are not that much preferred in our country. External links can be given as a reference to a content on the sites, or they are used to say look, you can learn this topic that is explained in the content better there. The Google bots look at the level of relevance of the contents and always rewards the linking site. Links that are given to dominant sites such as Wikipedia are perceived positively by Google.

Off-Page SEO

Usually, off-page works start after the on-page SEO optimization process is finished. Off-page SEO is the most important factor that allows sites to rank high on Google and the other search engines. Basically, off-page SEO is the backlink works that come from outside the site and that are taken from different sites. Internet sites need off-page SEO in order to be recognized in the virtual world and thus rank high.

Why is Off-Page SEO Important?

Off-page and on-page SEO represent the two different sides to the SEO works. It is not possible for the internet sites to succeed in rankings unless these two types of works are done correctly. Success will not come just by doing one of them right; both works should be equally optimized. Off-page SEO is the overbearing side in terms of the Google ranking factors. Types of Links

Backlinks are the brains of off-page SEO works. The internet sites will barely achieve their desired rankings unless the backlink works are done. Natural Links: Natural links are generally those that are given to the sites free of charge from another site. For example, Wikipedia includes the internet sites that it specifies as references at the bottom of the contents. Wikipedia does not charge the sites which it includes as references, it happens completely via natural means. Paid Links: Paid links are the types of links that are the most preferred in our days. People buy links to their own sites for a certain fee from high traffic and domineering sites. Although Google and the other search engines do not support it, it is still done to get ranks today. Automatically Created Links: These types of links are made with sites and programs. They are now known as Black Hat SEO and are not acknowledged by the search engines.
